Welcome to the Garden

Welcome to the Garden, where the Celtics (20-3) will take on the Chicago Bulls (9-14) at 7 p.m.

The Celtics will try to avenenge their only home loss of the season when they take on the Bulls tonight in another nationally-televised affair (hence the earlier start time).

It’s just me and Tony Allen hanging out on the home end of the parquet right now. Allen was the goat of Wednesday’s loss to the Pistons, fouling Chauncey Billups with 0.1 seconds left as the Celtics dropped a heartbreaker to the Pistons.

Kevin Garnett and coach Doc Rivers refused to put any blame on Allen after the game, and Allen is a boisterous guy. It would be surprising if he let that play carry over to tonight’s contest.

Allen is taking three-pointers right now. He was just joined on the Celtics end of the court by James Posey. Rajon Rondo was out working on his jump shot earlier. Whereas Posey and Allen are just shooting, Rondo goes through a structured shooting drill before every game to work on his timing. He doesn’t put up a shot before the game that isn’t the result of a catch-and-shoot situation.

On the other end of the court, Andres Nocioni and Kirk Heinrich are working out for the Bulls. Chicago has been a real mystery this season. They’re as talented as any team in the league, but their record certainly doesn’t indicate that. They’ve won three-of-five since dropping a nine-point decision to the Celtics on Dec. 9 in Chicago.

We’ll have plenty of updates all night for those of you who aren’t traveling for this holiday weekend. Kick back and enjoy the game. Back in a bit.
