Pierce likely to travel to Detroit

Rivers said Paul Pierce would travel with the team for
Tuesday’s matchup against Detroit,
but left the window for his return broad, calling it “sometime next week”

“He’s looking good,” Rivers said. “He’s running good and he’s
catching the ball without any pain right now, so that’s a good thing.”

Pierce, who had missed games with knee and foot troubles,
sat out the lat three games with a sprained right thumb, and in his absence the
Celtics have regressed going 1-2 after winning four of their first five after the all-star break.

“It’ll be good to have Truth back out there,” Wallace said. “We’ll
be full throttle again. But once again, you can’t rush an injury. I’d rather
for Paul to sit out as many games as he needs to get his hand right in order
for him to play good than come back and re-injure it.”
