The NBA just announced that defending three-point champion Paul Pierce will have some stiff competition at the All-Star Game in Los Angeles.
Teammate Ray Allen, who is on the verge of breaking Reggie Miller’s all-time three-point field goals record, will participate in the contest.
This move breaks with league tradition of having players from the same team in the contest.
Pierce, the defending three-point shooting champion, will have his work cut out retaining his crown.
Also in the competition are Thunder forward Kevin Durant, who won last year’s H-O-R-S-E competition by outshooting Rajon Rondo from 3, along with Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson, Heat forward James Jones and Warriors forward Dorell Wright.
