Former Celtic Robinson out 4-6 weeks after surgery

Former Celtics guard Nate Robinson will miss four to six weeks following arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

Robinson and center Kendrick Perkins were traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the NBA deadline for forward Jeff Green and center Nenad Krstic. According to a story on The Oklahoman newspaper’s web site, Robinson had discomfort in the knee after a practice earlier in the week, and played in his first game for the Thunder on Wednesday, but the team decided to treat the injury now to have him back in time for the end of the season and playoffs.

Perkins, who signed a four-year contract extension, hasn’t played since Feb. 22 because of his own knee injury.
