Although the lockout has been in place for six weeks, the NBA released its preseason schedules and the Celtics will play two games apiece against their Atlantic Division opponents, including games in Providence, Albany, N.Y., Amherst, Hartford and Newark, N.J.
If you wonder why the Center aren’t traveling that far for preseason games, that’s Doc Rivers’s wish. After going to Hidalgo, Texas a few years ago to play the Rockets, Rivers decided to keep the preseason travel more localized.
