Kelly Olynyk will join rookies Marcus Smart and James Young on the Celtics’ summer league team, which will probably resemble the Celtics’ regular NBA-league team. The Celtics begin the Orlando league with a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on July 5.
Olynyk will play for the second straight season. He tore up the competition last year, averaging 18.8 points and 7.8 rebounds and drawing at least one comparison to a young Dirk Nowitzki.
Other players on the Celtics’ summer league roster are Chris Babb, Latvian shooting guard Dairis Bertans, Mercer College center Daniel Coursey, French shooting guard Edwin Jackson, Chris Johnson, Colton Iverson,Oregon forward Mike Moser, Dayton forward Devin Oliver, and Phil Pressey. The Celtics will also play games against Indiana, Detroit, and Orlando, wrapping July 10. Games can be seen on NBATV.
