Scituate High graduate Shannon Brady capped a terrific first season on the basketball court at Bowdoin College with her selection as the NESCAC Rookie of the Year. The 6-foot freshman appeared in 24 games for the Polar Bears (14-11), making 20 starts, averaging 7.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Brady shot a team-high 44.7 percent from the field, third best in the NESCAC. . . .
Duxbury’s Seamus Connelly, a freshman at Duke, scored his first collegiate goal in a 21-9 lacrosse victory over Jacksonville. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound midfielder has seen action in two games for the Dukes. He scored 145 goals and 72 assists during his career at Duxbury High, including 60 goals his senior season. . . .
Max Randall, a teammate of Connelly’s at Duxbury High, has earned a starting role as a freshman defender at Dartmouth. Randall was an All-American defender for the Dragons as a senior.
