Anne Gordon, a member of the diving team her senior year at Medfield High School, is now senior captain of the women's diving team at Babson College in Wellesley.
Gordon set a school record in the 1-meter dive in the second meet of the season against Regis. In doing so, she qualified for selection to the NCAA Division 3 championships for the second consecutive year. Gordon's score of 394.0 in that dive broke the record of 387.5 set by current Babson diving coach Lisa McAndless in the 1995-1996 season.
"Anne has been our most consistent diver throughout her career at Babson," McAndless said.
"She has shown tremendous dedication and leadership and she has worked tirelessly to improve," he added. "Her willingness to experiment with new techniques and different dives has also been a key factor in our success."
Gordon, who has been the team's top diver in the 1- and 3-meter events during her four-year college career, is the only Babson diver since 1995 to qualify for selection to the national championships.
She also played field hockey at Medfield High.
