Kudos to junior defenseman Anthony Aiello of Braintree (Thayer Academy), senior forward Matt Greene of Plymouth (BC High), freshman forward Brian Gibbons of Braintree (Salisbury School), and sophomore forward Matt Lombardi of Milton (Governor's Academy), who all chipped in throughout the Eagles' 25-11-8 season. Star freshman goalie John Muse of East Falmouth prepped at Noble & Greenough in Dedham while junior forward Andrew Orpik is a Thayer Academy product.
In Saturday's clinching 4-1 win over Notre Dame in Denver - the program's third NCAA title and first since 2001 - Gibbons assisted on goals by Nathan Gerbe in the second period and Ben Smith in the third.
