A number of familiar faces will be making their way to the Bay State for this weekend's NCAA men's lacrosse championships at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

Former Duxbury High stalwart Max Quinzani will join his Duke University teammates for their Division 1 semifinal matchup against Johns Hopkins at 2:30 Saturday afternoon. The 5-foot-8-inch, 170-pound sophomore attack netted 5 goals in the top-ranked Blue Devils' 21-10 quarterfinal win over Ohio State, boosting his season total to 59 goals, placing him second in the country behind teammate Zack Greer, who has 64.

Quinzani has scored in 25 of his last 26 games. The unit of Greer, Quinzani, and Matt Danowski have combined for 252 points, becoming the third-most productive group in NCAA history.

Hanover High graduate John Franklin is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound senior defenseman with Johns Hopkins.

The Duke-Johns Hopkins winner will face the winner of the Syracuse-Virginia matchup.

Freshman attack Brian Donnelly of Weymouth is a member of a Salisbury University squad that will try to repeat as Division 3 national champion on Sunday against Cortland State, last year's runner-up and the 2006 champ. Donnelly, an Xaverian Brothers graduate, has 1 goal and 1 assist in seven games this season.

Also Sunday, the New York Institute of Technology will take on Le Moyne in the Division 2 championship game.

Scituate native Gary Crowley was honored as the Northeast-10's top freshman lacrosse player after his stellar first season at Bryant University.

Crowley finished with 22 goals and 11 assists from his midfield position. Bryant, which will move up to Division 1 in the fall, lost, 11-2, to Northeast-10 rival Le Moyne in the Division 2 semifinals.

Caldwell named to All-America team
Midfielder Scott Caldwell of Braintree was selected to the Parade boys' All-America Soccer Team. Caldwell, who graduated from Bradenton Academy in Florida this month, is a member of the Under-17 Men's National Team.

Caldwell and Sherron Williams of Boston are the only two from the Bay State selected for the 38-player team. He is the brother of 2007 Braintree High graduate Amy Caldwell, a two-time Globe Player of the Year who is playing at Boston College.
