Herzlich coming back to BC
Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich received the final paperwork from the National Football League yesterday with information projecting him as a second-round pick in April's draft.
"They said somewhere early in the second round,'' said Herzlich by phone from his home in Pennsylvania early this afternoon. "So I'm coming back to BC for my senior year.''
Herzlich said that the firing of BC coach Jeff Jagodzinski Wednesday surprised him, but it did not have an impact on his decision to return.
"But I think they should make Spaz [defensive coordinator Frank Spaziani] the coach,'' said Herzlich. "That would be great. That would make things a lot easier for all of us I think.''

This is great news! Mark Herzlich is a real "BC Guy," a total class act and a force on the field. His leadership next season should also help the transition. The BC community thanks Mark for his decision.
Finally some great news coming out of the Heights.
I'm agreeing with Mark ! Frank Spaziani is the best choice for BC at the moment.
The kids respect him and will "go to war" for him.

Spaz is loyal and a damn good coach. Gene should hire him and end this strange saga in BC Football history.
All of above is nice but please wait until we get the real story.
Obrien left becasue he was the lowest paid coach in the ACC, but that was seldom mentioned in the stories published then.
wait for the real story
I agree on Spaziani. What is the thinking behind keeping Logan around? He has helped the ofensive creativity post-O'Brien. I would also like to see him stay as O-coord if he likes the BC fit. I used to love watching his explosive ECU teams.
Hire Turner Gill. He's legit
