Boston College football coach Jeff Jagodzinski has been contacted by the New York Jets about becoming their next coach according to sources at Boston College
Whether Jagodzinski, who earlier today denied he had any contact with the Jets, actually sits down with Jets officials has yet to be determined.

"Not true,'' said Jagodzinski earlier this afternoon when contacted. "Where did you hear that?''
When told that it was in a published report, Jagodzinski said, "Well, there's nothing to it. I haven't talked to them and no one has contacted me.''
Whether that is still true is another matter.,although sources at BC said this evening that Jagodzinski had been contacted by the Jets, but were not sure whether a meeting had been actuallly scheduled.

Obviously, until the Jets do hire a new coach, rumors will continue to surface and Jagodzinski, who has seven years of NFL pedigree, including a year as the Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator in 2006 with former Packer and current Jet QB Bret Favre), could find his name involved in other openings as well.

For now, his denial of any contact with the Jets, remains firm. But late this evening there was growing speculation that the Jets and Jagodzinski had set things up to discuss the matter in the next several days.
For Jagodzinski the issue is sticky because he is in the middle of recruiting season at BC, which is the primary reason the discussions--if they indeed occur--are trying to be concealed.
