Milton Academy's Dennis Clifford has verbally committed to Boston College, a little less than two weeks after new Eagles head coach Steve Donahue first contacted the 7-footer.

"BC always been my dream school," Clifford said. "I grew up right in its backyard. I just felt it was the right fit for me."

Clifford had received scholarship offers from Northeastern and Princeton earlier this year, but had yet to make a decision before hearing from Donahue. On his lone trip to the Chestnut Hill campus, Donahue made him an offer.

Clifford, for his part, is excited about the opportunity.

"Hopefully I can be an impact player when I get in," he said. "He didn't promise me anything. He said I'll get in what I earn. So I'm gonna work on getting stronger and whatever.

"Really, I'll do whatever he wants."
