The collegiate and perhaps the football career of Billly Futie is over. The fifth year Boston College senior, who enthusiastically embraced the attention of being Doug Flutie's nephew, has missed the past few weeks with a hamstring injury that now will require surgery.

BC coach Frank Spaziani said he expects Flutie will have surgery in the next few days, which would mean the end of his Eagles career since there is not enough of the season left for sufficient recovery time.

"It's really a shame,'' said Spaziani before practice this afternoon. "He's such a great kid.''
