With all the talk and speculation about the worthiness of whether schools from BCS non-automatic qualifying leagues such as Boise State, TCU and Utah are worthy of being considered for the BCS title game in Arizona on January 10th, one irony this season is that those three teams are unbeaten and ranked in the Top 5.
But here's the rub. If Alabama and Auburn or Oregon and USC or Wisconsin and Ohio State were unbeaten and faced off in what would be pivotal games, the television exposure would be enormous. ESPN, CBS, ABC. Take your pick.
But Utah and TCU will meet Saturday afternoon in Salt Lake City and the game wll be televised, not in prime time ,and not on a widely available network, but on CBS College Sports.
The winner will be in prime position to make a run at the BCS title game, but the lack of respect will continue.
