Harvard football player proposes marriage after The Game
That's the case for Harvard senior defensive tackle Josue Ortiz, who proposed to his girlfriend immediately after The Game Saturday.
She said yes.
He met her on the field at Yale Bowl after Harvard's 45-7 victory.
"She said what are you doing here, why aren't you with the team? And I got down on one knee, and she said yes," Ortiz said.
Ortiz, from Avon Park, Fla., has been dating Kayci Baldwin for about three years. He said he's been planning the proposal for about six weeks, and was only going to go through with it if Harvard won.
Baldwin, from Middletown, N.J., is a sophomore at Harvard.
Ortiz said he got the idea from watching Boise State running back Ian Johnson propose marriage after Boise State's victory over Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.
