UMass football picked last in MAC East Division
It could be a tough season ahead for the UMass football team as it moves up to the top level of college football.
UMass was predicted to finish last in the Mid-American Conference's East Division in a media poll that was revealed at Tuesday's MAC media day at Ford Field in Detroit. Ford Field is the site of the league's championship game.
The poll predicts the title game will be a matchup of Ohio from the East and Toledo from the West. Ohio was a unanimous choice to win the East Division and a clear-cut choice to win the overall championship.
Ohio opens its season at Penn State. UMass open its season at UConn Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. Ohio comes to Gillette Stadium Sept. 29.
