Iím really old, but the great Dick Weiss was covering college basketball when I was in college. So heís really old.

Iím just kidding, of course. He is really wise when it comes to basketball in general and college basketball, specifically. His nickname is Hoops and it is a deserving one. In conversations Iíve had with him over the years, he always tells me something I didnít know and it was also something I wanted to know. Heís a great guy too.

He just put together a tremendous list of the 10 most riveting college basketball games on George Ravelingís web site. Itís hard to argue with him. I think itís a great list. I saw eight of the games on TV (two I didnít see at all) and I can remember watching two them while I was at work. Sometimes you just have to do what needs to be done.

One another note, the equally great Bob Ryan ordered me to tell Sullyís Court readers that Tom Gola was one of the great college players of all-time, a true all-around player who could score, rebound, pass, and defend. In a long NBA career he wasnít a prolific scorer, but always did what helped the team win. High praise from Bob Ryan. Gola, who played at LaSalle, passed away this week.
