Tahj Kimble said he had a fitful night of sleep before Boston College’s first scrimmage of preseason camp Saturday morning at Alumni Stadium.
A 5-foot-11-inch, 211-pound junior running back from Fernandina Beach, Fla., Kimble tossed and turned Friday night because of nerves over his first practice in full pads since injuring his left knee last season. The setback limited him to three games in 2012 and kept him out of spring drills.
On his first carry Saturday, Kimble had a short gain running between the tackles and getting brought down by defensive tackle Dominic Appiah. After taking a quick inventory of his moving parts, Kimble jogged back to the huddle to do it again.
