Toman's arm guides UNH past URI

R.J. Toman threw five touchdown passes to lead New Hampshire to a 51-43 win over host Rhode Island.
Toman completed 29 of 40 passes for 309 yards for the Wildcats (2-0, 1-0 Colonial), who finished with 511 total yards.
Anthony Ferrer caught a 1-yard scoring pass with 2:46 left in the third quarter to cut UNH's lead to 34-30, but the Wildcats, ranked 10th in the Championship Subdivision, followed with a 72-yard TD run from Chad Kackert (11 carries, 164 yards).
Maine 28, Stony Brook 13 - Adam Farkes threw for four first-half TDs to help the Black Bears (2-1) kick off their home schedule with a nonconference victory.
Delaware 48, West Chester 20 - The Blue Hens (1-1) got three TD runs from Johnathon Smith en route to the easy home win.
Villanova 33, Lehigh 14 - Antwon Young threw for 231 yards and a touchdown to power the No. 21 Wildcats (1-1) at home.
Richmond 45, Towson 14 - Eric Ward and John Crone scored two touchdowns apiece to spark the Spiders (2-1, 1-0) at home.
Albany 22, Hofstra 16 - David McCarty scored on a 7-yard run in overtime to lift the host Great Danes (1-1) past the Pride (0-2).
William & Mary 52, VMI 17 - Jake Phillips threw for three TDs as the Tribe (1-1, 1-0) dominated their home opener.![]()
