Late connection keeps Holy Cross on target

Dominic Randolph's 37-yard touchdown pass to Rob Koster in the final seconds lifted Holy Cross to a 27-26 victory over Lafayette yesterday in Easton, Pa.
The Crusaders (7-3, 5-0) will face Colgate (8-2, 4-0) next Saturday in Hamilton, N.Y., for the Patriot League title.
Randolph threw for 422 yards and three touchdowns, including the winner to Koster with six seconds remaining. Matt Partain's extra point provided the winning margin.
Brett McDermott and Nick Cole also caught touchdown passes for Holy Cross.
DeAndre' Morrow scored on a 22-yard run with 2:45 left for Lafayette (7-3, 3-2), but a missed extra point kept the Leopards' lead at 26-20, and gave Holy Cross the chance to win.
UConn 39, Syracuse 14 - Donald Brown ran for 131 yards and a TD, becoming Connecticut's career rushing leader, and the Huskies (7-3, 3-2 Big East) took control against the host Orange (2-8, 1-5) in the second half.
Brown went over 100 yards for the ninth time this season and became UConn's all-time leader with 3,254 yards rushing, bettering Terry Caulley's 3,187.
Central Conn. 49, Sacred Heart 14 - James Mallory rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns to lead the host Blue Devils (7-4, 4-3 NEFC) past the Pioneers (8-3, 4-3).
Bryant 23, Iona 7 - At New Rochelle, N.Y., Lindsey Gamble and Jerell Smith each rushed for more than 100 yards as the Bulldogs (6-4) assured themselves a winning record in their first season in Division 1.
Springfield 28, Norwich 16 - Baldwin Cunningham rushed for a career-high 192 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Pride (4-6, 2-4) to an Empire 8 victory at Northfield, Vt.
Seton Hill 14, AIC 7 - David Wess connected with wide receiver Derek Thompson on a 14-yard touchdown play with less than five minutes remaining to lift the sixth-seeded Griffins past the No. 3 Yellow Jackets in Springfield in the first round of the NCAA Division 2 playoffs.
West Chester 52, Southern Conn. 32 - Jackson Fagan rushed for three touchdowns as the Rams (9-3) advanced in the Division 2 playoffs by routing the Owls (8-3) in West Chester, Pa.![]()
