UConn puts 3 on all-conference team

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Big East coaches have put three Connecticut players on the all-conference first team, and named UConn's slain cornerback Jasper Howard as the team's honorary captain.

Offensive guard Zach Hurd, defensive end Lindsay Whitten, and linebacker Lawrence Wilson received All-Big East honors.

Big East Commissioner John Marinatto said the conference also thought it was appropriate to memorialize Howard, who was stabbed to death outside a school dance on Oct. 18.

Connecticut's tailback tandem of Jordan Todman and Andre Dixon were both named to the second team, along with linebacker Greg Lloyd and cornerback Robert McClain.
