Russell Wilson threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns as North Carolina State improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2002 by beating Cincinnati, 30-19, last night in a nonconference game in Raleigh, N.C.

The Wolfpack had back-to-back 93-yard touchdown drives in the first quarter, with Wilson ending the first on a 16-yard pass to Jay Smith and Mustafa Greene running 31 yards to make it 14-0.

Zach Collaros threw three TD passes for the Bearcats (1-2), two to D.J. Woods.

Orange lose Weaver
Syracuse wide receiver Aaron Weaver is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The fifth-year senior hurt the knee in practice Tuesday. Weaver, who transferred to Syracuse after Hofstra eliminated its football program following the 2009 season, caught six passes for 88 yards in Syracuse’s first two games . . . The former player linked to the suspension of Georgia receiver A.J. Green faces a felony drug charge in Georgia last year. Chris Hawkins, 28, is charged with felony trafficking of cocaine and misdemeanor marijuana possession stemming from the April 2009 incident. The former North Carolina and Marshall defensive back bought Green’s jersey in a transaction that led to Green’s four-game NCAA suspension.
