Florida State's modest four-game winning streak has vaulted the Seminoles back into the polls and left them in position for a run at the Atlantic Division title. Boston College, meanwhile, looks to snap a three-game losing streak winning its third straight against FSU.
KEY MATCHUP
Boston College puts its the top-ranked run defense in the ACC up against a veteran Florida State offensive line that helped the Seminoles to nearly 300 yards rushing in last week's 45-17 win at Miami. Florida State is averaging 223.5 yards per game, second in the ACC to Georgia Tech. And Boston College's offensive line and whoever coach Frank Spaziani goes with at QB against Florida State's nation-best 26 sacks, one more than it had all last season.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Boston College: Junior RB Montel Harris, who is from Jacksonville, Fla., has enjoyed big games against Florida State the past two years while leading the Eagles to victories. Harris rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-21 victory last year, including a 42-yard game-winning score with 4:07 left. As a freshman in 2008, Harris ran for 121 yards and a touchdown.
Florida State: Sophomore K Dustin Hopkins has put 56 percent of his kickoffs into the end zone, leaving opponents starting from their 20. Coach Jimbo Fisher claims Hopkins' kickoffs are one of the major factors in the Seminoles' early success. Hopkins has 23 kicks for touchbacks while kickers from the other 11 ACC schools have managed 36.
