Game of the Week

No. 1 LSU 28, No. 12 Georgia 21
- Georgia gives the Tigers an early scare, but then LSU does what LSU has done all season - finds a way to win and proves itself No. 1-worthy.

Other Top 25

No. 3 Oklahoma State vs. No. 13 Oklahoma The Cowboys, who boast the nation’s No. 2 offense (49.8 points per game), have lost their last eight against the Sooners. Oklahoma will be without leading rusher Dominique Whaley and top wide receiver Ryan Broyles. The winner takes the Big 12 title and earns an automatic BCS berth.

No. 5 Virginia Tech vs. No. 21 Clemson The Hokies, who have won seven straight, look to avenge their only loss of the season in the ACC championship game. Logan Thomas has thrown 14 touchdown passes and rushed for nine scores during Virginia Tech’s win streak. Clemson has lost three of its last four.

No. 7 Houston vs. No. 24 Southern Miss

The Cougars are looking to cap an undefeated season in the Conference USA championship game and lock up their first BCS bid. Behind record-setting quarterback Case Keenum, Houston is averaging a nation-best 52.7 points per game.

No. 8 Oregon vs. UCLA The Bruins are 31-point underdogs in the Pac-12 championship game and coming off a 50-0 loss to rival Southern Cal that preceded the firing of coach Rick Neuheisel. The Ducks are looking for their third straight conference title and a spot in the Rose Bowl.

No. 9 Boise State vs. New Mexico

The Broncos have the top scoring offense (43.1 points) and scoring defense (19.9) in the Mountain West Conference. The Lobos rank last in the league in both categories and have lost 20 straight on the road.

No. 11 Michigan State vs. No. 15 Wisconsin

Both teams are riding four-game winning streaks entering the inaugural Big Ten championship game. The Spartans got the best of Wisconsin, 37-31, on Oct. 22 in one of the most exciting games this season.

No. 16 Kansas State vs. Iowa State With 25 rushing touchdowns, Kansas State’s Collin Klein needs just three to set the season mark for quarterbacks. A win would give the Wildcats their first 10-win season in eight years. The Cyclones face their seventh ranked opponent in nine games.

No. 18 TCU vs. UNLV The Horned Frogs are playing in their final Mountain West Conference game before moving to the Big 12. A win would clinch TCU’s third straight Mountain West title and extend its conference-record winning streak to 24 games.

No. 19 Baylor vs. Texas Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, who sat out the second half of last week’s game after suffering a head injury, will look to make his Heisman case against the Big 12’s No. 2 scoring defense (21 points per game). Griffin is one of only four players in history to pass for 9,000 yards and rush 2,000 in his career.
