Duke men cruise by Cornell, 88-47

Seth Curry scored 20 points, Mason Plumlee added 18 and No. 1 Duke reeled off 23 straight points in an 88-47 rout of Cornell Wednesday night in Durham, N.C.

Freshman Rasheed Sulaimon had 16 points and Quinn Cook had a career-high 12 assists while showing up all over the box score for the Blue Devils (10-0).

Playing as a top-ranked team for the 210th time under Mike Krzyzewski — but the first since February 2011 — they posted two key season highs, shooting 56.7 percent and forcing 26 turnovers, while holding the Big Red scoreless for an eight-minute stretch.

Shonn Miller had 14 points to lead Cornell (4-7). The Big Red missed their first 10 shots of the second half and shot 22.6 percent over the final 20 minutes to lose their third in four games and fall to 0-4 all time against No. 1 teams.

Gonzaga 74, Campbell 52 — Przemek Karnowski scored 14 points as the 14th-ranked Bulldogs beat the Camels in Spokane, Wash.

Creighton 71, Tulsa 54 — Avery Dingman had 14 of his career-high 21 points in the second half in the No. 17 Bluejays’ victory over the Hurricane in Omaha.

New Mexico 68, New Mexico St. 63— Kendall Williams tied a career high with 24 points and the No. 16 Lobos beat the Aggies in Las Cruces, N.M.

UNLV, Northern Iowa 59 — Anthony Bennett had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the No. 21 Rebels over the Panthers in Las Vegas.

Texas 85, North Carolina 67 — Sheldon McClellan scored 18 points and the struggling Longhorns upset the No. 23 Tar Heels in Austin, Texas.

Notre Dame 85, Kennesaw St. 57 — Jack Cooley scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the No. 22 Fighting Irish over the Owls in South Bend, Ind.

Women

Stanford 53, South Carolina 49 — Chiney Ogwumike had 21 points and 15 rebounds and the No. 1 Cardinal held on to beat the No. 21 Gamecocks in Columbia, S.C.

Connecticut 97, Oakland 25 — Bria Hartley and Breanna Stewart each scored 21 points and Brianna Banks had 18 to lead the No. 2 host Huskies to a rout of the Golden Grizzlies.

Bowling Green 64, UMass 61 — Alexis Rogers hit four free throws in the last 30 seconds and finished with 18 points to lift the Falcons over the Minutewomen in Amherst.

Clemson 62, Providence 47 — Nikki Dixon had 18 points to lift the Lady Tigers over the visiting Lady Friars. Symone Roberts led Providence with 17 points.
