Sophomore guard Olivier Hanlan spent the majority of the second half draining open shots, and Florida Atlantic had no answer for Boston College’s sharpshooter as he guided the Eagles to a steady lead.
But suddenly, with just less than nine minutes to play, the shots stopped falling for the Eagles, who hit just three field goals in the final stretch. It was then that Hanlan opted to drive to the basket.
Hanlan, who led all scorers with 38 points, hit 10 free throws in the final 3:43, including one with six seconds left, which lifted Boston College to a 82-79 win against Florida Atlantic Sunday night at Conte Forum in a regional round of the 2K Sports Classic.
