Northeastern holds off pesky Alabama-Huntsville, 3-2

Despite taking a 2-0 lead into the third period, Northeastern found itself in a dog fight with Alabama-Huntsville.

Colton Saucerman’s strike with less than seven minutes remaining proved to be the winner as the Huskies edged the Chargers, 3-2 at Matthews Arena on Saturday night.

Chad Brears and Steven Koshey scored power-play goals for Alabama-Huntsville (0-2-0) in the third period, but the Huskies held strong in the end.

Carmine Guerriero kept the Chargers in the game, making 34 saves.

Braden Pimm and Cody Ferriero potted power-play goals for Northeastern (2-0-0), which beat the Chargers, 9-1, Friday night.

Kevin Roy added two assists, and his brother, Derick, earned the win in net, making 27 saves.
