NORTH ANDOVER — Ever since Boston College coach Jerry York put together the line of Johnny Gaudreau, Bill Arnold and Kevin Hayes, the Eagles have been steadily climbing up the national rankings. On Monday afternoon, they reached No. 2 behind Minnesota in the USCHO.com poll.

On Tuesday night, BC defeated Merrimack, 4-1, in front of a sold-out crowd of 2,549 at Lawler Arena, for its ninth win in 10 games.

The Eagles (17-4-3, 11-1-1) have not lost since York put his high-scoring trio together against New Hampshire on Dec. 6, a streak of 9-0-1. Over the 10 contests, the three have combined for 60 points, 23 goals, and are a plus-49.
