In a performance in which Alexis Castro set the American International College record for points in a game, it seemed only appropriate that she would score the winning basket as well.

Castro scored 41 points, breaking her own school record of 38 set against Southern Connecticut earlier this season, and her basket with 15 seconds remaining in double overtime gave the Yellow Jackets a 76-74 victory over Bryant yesterday at Smithfield, R.I.

Castro, a senior forward, was particularly dominant after halftime, scoring 35 of AIC's 52 points following the break. She had just 6 points in the first half on 3-of-13 shooting, but hit 10 of 14 field goal attempts and 13 of 15 free throws in the final 30 minutes.

Castro also grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (13-9, 9-8 Northeast-10).

Siamone Bennett led Bryant (14-9, 9-9) with 23 points and 15 rebounds.

Stonehill 57, Bentley 38 - At Easton, Daryl Cioffi hit 6 of 7 shots for a game-high 14 points, and Kelsey Simonds added 12 as the Skyhawks (18-4, 14-3 NE-10) prevented the Falcons (15-7, 12-5) from moving into a tie for first place in the conference, while also denying Bentley coach Barbara Stevens her 750th career win.

Le Moyne 57, UMass-Lowell 54 - Kathleen Gladstone scored 22 points - hitting 6 of 8 shots from the field and 10 of 11 from the free throw line - to help the Dolphins (12-11, 9-10 NE-10) take an 8-point lead into halftime and fend off the host River Hawks (10-13, 5-11), who were led by Revital Carmon's 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Assumption 70, Saint Rose 53 - At Albany, N.Y., Bethany Plasski scored 19 points and Megan Urban added 18, guiding the Greyhounds (19-5, 13-4 NE-10) past the Golden Knights (10-12, 7-11), who got 18 points from Emily Gottstein.
