Point guard Rahmon Fletcher sparked an 8-0 run to start the second half as host Wisconsin-Green Bay beat error-prone Massachusetts, 84-67, last night.
Troy Cotton led the Phoenix (3-2) with 21 points and Wisconsin-Green Bay forced the Minutemen into 29 turnovers.
UMass (1-4) led, 33-23, before losing its 3-point shooting touch.
The Minutemen retained the lead at the half, 39-37, but Fletcher led a game-turning charge in the first 63 seconds of the second half.
He drove to set up a 3-pointer by Chop Tang, stole the ball and kicked it to Cotton for a fast-break 3-pointer, then had a steal and coast-to-coast layup to give Green Bay a 45-39 lead.
Ricky Harris led UMass with 27 points.
Mount Saint Mary's 78, BU 69 - Jeremy Goode scored 23 points, including 8 during a 16-9 run in the second half, to propel the Mountaineers to victory at Emmitsburg, Md.
The Mountaineers (2-2) converted their final eight free throws, including six by Goode, to pull away from the Terriers (3-2).
Carlos Strong scored 18 points and had six rebounds for BU. John Holland added 17 points and Corey Lowe had 16.
Harvard 66, Army 54 - Jeremy Lin scored 24 points and added five steals to lead the Crimson to a nonleague victory over the Black Knights at Lavietes Pavilion.
Harvard trailed, 32-30, early in the second half, but took the lead for good on a 13-4 run in which Lin scored 7 points and also had a block and a steal.
Lin shot 6 of 12 from the floor and made all nine of his free throws.
Keith Wright had 12 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks for Harvard (3-1), which set a school record with 12 blocked shots. The Crimson's Drew Housman scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half.
South Florida 55, Northeastern 37 - Dominique Jones scored 20 points to lead the stingy Bulls past the visiting Huskies.
Aris Williams scored 11 points and Jesus Verdejo finished with 10 points for South Florida (3-1), which allowed the second-lowest point total in school history. The Bulls held Saint Peter's to 34 points in 1985.
Northeastern (3-3) made four of its first 30 shots from the field, but the Huskies were still able to claim a 1-point lead. But South Florida scored 16 straight points to pull ahead, 26-11, early in the second half.
Marist 63, UNH 61 - Ryan Schneider drained three free throws in the final 12 seconds to help the host Red Foxes fend off a late 17-3 run by the Wildcats.
David Devezin led Marist (2-3) with 19 points and three assists in a slugfest that featured 45 personal fouls and only 43 field goals. The Red Foxes turned the ball over 21 times to New Hampshire's 10.
UNH (1-3) shot only 4 for 26 from behind the arc. Alvin Abreu (22 points) was the only Wildcat in double figures.
Tulane 66, Maine 56 - Kevin Sims scored 20 points, shooting 4 of 5 from 3-point range, leading the Green Wave past the Black Bears in the USA Basketball Challenge in Mobile, Ala.
Asim McQueen scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help the Green Wave (4-2) outrebound Maine, 38-25. Robinson Louisme scored 12 points and had eight rebounds.
Mark Socoby led Maine with 18 points.
Loyola (Chicago) 58, Holy Cross 53 - J.R. Blount and Darrin Williams combined for four free throws in the final 16 seconds as the Ramblers held off the Crusaders in Chicago.
Blount led the Ramblers with 19 points, including 7 in the final six minutes.
Loyola (3-4) led, 37-28, seven minutes into the second half, but the Crusaders (2-4) came back on the shooting of Colin Cunningham and Greg McCarthy, who had 13 points apiece.
Vermont 64, Loyola (Md.) 62 - Mike Trimboli and Colin McIntosh hit consecutive late 3-pointers to put the Catamounts up for good at Burlington, Vt.
Trimboli (12 points) gave Vermont (3-2) a 56-54 lead with his trey with 5:04 remaining. McIntosh, who also had 12 points, followed with another to make it 59-54 and then a basket to make it 61-56.
Jamal Barney scored on a layup for Loyola (2-5), but Vermont's Marqus Blakely (12 points) scored the decisive points on a dunk to put Vermont ahead, 63-58, and Nick Vier added a free throw.
Brown 53, Eastern Mich. 51 - Peter Sullivan's jump shot with less than two minutes to play broke a tie and gave the host Bears (3-3) a tough victory over the Eagles.
Sullivan (20 points) buried a 15-footer with 1:56 remaining to cap a second half in which he hit 4 of 6 shots.
Lehigh 73, Dartmouth 60 - Zahir Carrington had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Mountain Hawks to victory at Hanover, N.H.
Dan Biber led Dartmouth (1-4) with 15 points, including 10 in the final five minutes.
Niagara 103, Hartford 63 - Rob Garrison tied his career high with 19 points and the Purple Eagles (5-1) broke open a close game late in the first half, beating the Hawks (2-5) in the Liberty Bracket championship of the Philly Hoop Group Classic in Philadelphia.
Springfield 75, Eastern Conn. 71 - Pat Crean had a career-high 24 points, including 14 straight during a span of the second half, as the Pride (4-1) won the Eastern Connecticut Invitational.
Fairfield 82, American 73 - Jonathan Han scored 20 points Warren Edney added 15 to lead the Stags (3-3) at Washington.
MIT 99, Suffolk 56 - Jimmy Bartolotta had 30 points and the Engineers (4-2) shot 68 percent from beyond the arc in a rout of the host Rams (0-4).![]()
