Blue Devils surge past Boilermakers
Kyle Singler had 20 points and 12 rebounds and No. 4 Duke beat No. 9 Purdue, 76-60, last night in West Lafayette, Ind., to stay unbeaten on the season and in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge
Jon Scheyer scored 20 points and Nolan Smith added 12 for the Blue Devils (8-0).
Duke improved to 10-0 all time in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. It was the Blue Devils' first test against a ranked team this season.
Robbie Hummel had 15 points and eight rebounds and JaJuan Johnson added 12 for the Boilermakers (5-2). E'Twaun Moore, Purdue's leading scorer, went scoreless in the first half and finished with 10 points.
Duke outrebounded Purdue, 49-29, and held the Boilermakers to 37 percent shooting. Purdue was just 2 of 13 on 3-pointers.
Notre Dame 102, South Dakota 76 - Ryan Ayers was 9 of 14 from 3-point range for a career-high 35 points and Kyle McAlarney was 7 of 13 beyond the arc for 27 points as the No. 7 Irish (6-1) routed the visiting Coyotes.
Villanova 69, Penn 47 - Dante Cunningham had 20 points and 11 rebounds, Corey Stokes scored 14 points, and the No. 17 Wildcats (7-0) cruised past the host Quakers.
Memphis 100, Marist 61 - Shawn Taggart had 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 blocks and Tyreke Evans added 24 points as the No. 18 Tigers (5-1) dominated every phase of the game against the visiting Red Foxes.
Ohio St. 73, Miami 68 - The Buckeyes (4-0) erased a 14-point second-half deficit, mounting the comeback after the ejection of Miami scoring leader Jack McClinton for a flagrant foul, to beat the 21st-ranked Hurricanes (4-2) at Coral Gables, Fla.
Florida 73, Florida A&M 58 - Nick Calathes had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists, Chandler Parsons added 15 points, and the No. 23 Gators (6-1) beat the Rattlers in Gainesvile, Fla.
Vermont 88, Dartmouth 71 - Marqus Blakely (27 points), Mike Trimboli (23), and Garvey Young (19) combined for 69 points to lead the Catamounts (4-2) past the visiting Big Green (1-5).
Fairfield 78, Holy Cross 66 - Center Anthony Johnson had 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 blocks as the Stags (4-3) outscored the Crusaders, 38-16, in the paint to win at Worcester. Devin Brown had 22 points for Holy Cross (2-5).
Binghamton 74, Quinnipiac 58 - D.J. Rivera and Dwayne Jackson had 17 points apiece and Reggie Fuller pulled down 12 rebounds as the Bearcats (3-2) cruised past the host Bobcats.

Tennessee 71, George Washington 59 - Glory Johnson scored 16 points and the No. 7 Lady Vols (6-1) compensated for a poor-shooting, turnover-filled night by dominating the glass to snap the Colonials' 17-game home winning streak.
Notre Dame 83, Eastern Michigan 63 - Freshman guard Natalie Novosel scored a career-high 18 points off the bench and Lindsay Schrader added 17 points and 10 rebounds to help the No. 11 Irish (6-0) win in Ypsilanti, Mich.
Vanderbilt 78, Radford 41 - Jessica Mooney scored 16 points, fellow reserve Chanel Chisolm added 13, and the No. 16 Commodores (7-1) won easily at home.
Xavier 67, Kentucky 44 - In Cincinnati, Jerri Taylor scored a season-high 18 points as the No. 23 Musketeers (6-2) gave coach Kevin McGuff the program's career victory record. McGuff improved to 136-61 in his seven seasons, moving ahead of Melanie Balcomb's mark.
Brandeis 94, Emmanuel 52 - Lauren Orlando had 22 points as the host Judges (6-0) cruised past the Saints (2-3).
