Kwadzo Ahelegbe scored 20 of his 32 points in the second half to lead Northern Iowa to an 81-69 victory over Boston College yesterday in the fourth-place game of the Paradise Jam in the US Virgin Islands.

BC had no answer for Ahelegbe, who was 14 of 17 from the field and hit all three of his attempts from beyond the arc. Adam Koch added 14 points for the Panthers (3-1).

Corey Raji scored 18 points and Josh Southern had 12 to lead the Eagles (3-2).

Army 56, Harvard 53 - Julian Simmons scored 16 points, including sinking three free throws in the final 21 seconds, to lead the host Cadets.

Harvard (3-1) led, 51-50, with 1:44 to go after a Jeremy Lin free throw, but Army (3-1) went on a 6-2 run for the win.

Oliver McNally led Harvard with 15 points.

UNC-Charlotte 88, Yale 74 - Shamari Spears scored a career-high 28 points to lead the 49ers past the Bulldogs in the third round of the NIT Season Tip-Off in Hempstead, N.Y. Spears, a transfer from BC, shot 13 for 15 from the field.

Texas 85, Iowa 60 - Dexter Pittman scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half as the No. 3 Longhorns beat the Hawkeyes in the semifinals of the CBE Classic in Kansas City, Mo.

Purdue 73, Tennessee 72 - E’Twaun Moore scored 22 points to lead the No. 6 Boilermakers (4-0) past the No. 9 Volunteers (4-1) in the championship game of the Paradise Jam.

North Carolina 93, Gardner-Webb 72 - Deon Thompson scored 22 points as the No. 11 Tar Heels won at home and gave coach Roy Williams his 599th victory.

Louisville 80, Appalachian St. 53 - Samardo Samuels had 16 points for the 16th-ranked Cardinals at home.

Maryland 79, Chaminade 51 - Sean Mosley scored 19 points as the No. 21 Terrapins beat the host Silverswords at the Maui Invitational.

Cincinnati 67, Vanderbilt 58 - Yancy Gates scored 16 points for the Bearcats against the No. 24 Commodores at the Maui Invitational.
