Raymar Morgan had 16 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 14 Michigan State beat No. 3 Purdue yesterday, 53-44, snapping the host Boilermakers’ 10-game win streak.

Draymond Green added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Spartans (22-7, 12-4 Big Ten), who avenged a 76-64 loss to the Boilermakers (24-4, 12-4).

Duke 67, Virginia 49 - Kyle Singler (21 points) and Jon Scheyer (20) powered the No. 5 Blue Devils over the host Cavaliers (14-13, 5-9 ACC), winning their fourth consecutive game in the series.

Duke (25-4, 12-2) remained a game ahead of Maryland heading into a first-place showdown with the Terrapins in College Park, Md., Wednesday night.

Temple 65, La Salle 53 - Juan Fernandez sank seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points, Lavoy Allen had 17 points and 20 rebounds, and the No. 20 Owls (24-5, 12-2 Atlantic 10) beat the Explorers (11-17, 3-11) in a win that cemented the Owls as the best team in Philadelphia.

Xavier 78, Richmond 76 - Terrell Holloway scored 7 of his 24 points during the second overtime, and the host Musketeers (21-7, 12-2) held on to beat the No. 23 Spiders in an Atlantic 10 first-place showdown.

David Gonzalvez hit a tying 3-pointer with 24 seconds left in regulation for Richmond (22-7, 11-3), and Xavier’s Jordan Crawford missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Crawford also missed a 12-foot jumper at the end of the first overtime.

Louisville 78, UConn 76 - Edgar Sosa’s driving layup with eight seconds left gave the Cardinals (19-10, 10-6) a victory over the host Huskies (17-12, 7-9), adding another Big East road win to their NCAA Tournament résumé.

UNH 77, Stony Brook 55 - Ferg Myrick had 21 points and the host Wildcats (12-16, 6-10) snapped a 10-game winning streak by the America East regular-season champion Seawolves (21-8, 13-3).

Hartford 85, Albany 79 - Anthony Minor tied it with two late free throws, and Milton Burton scored 5 of his 24 points in overtime as the host Hawks (8-21, 6-10 America East) beat the Great Danes (7-24, 2-14).

Miami 76, BC 68 - Morgan Stroman’s basket at the buzzer forced overtime, and the Hurricanes (17-12, 4-10 ACC) beat the Eagles (15-14, 6-8), who were led by Carolyn Swords’s 21 points.

BU 79, UNH 65 - Alex Young sank five 3-pointers and scored 27 points as the host Terriers (15-13, 11-5 America East) beat the Wildcats (8-20, 3-12).

Hofstra 53, Northeastern 37 -The Pride (18-11, 11-6 Colonial Athletic) scored the game’s first 8 points and held the visiting Huskies (12-16, 7-10) to 25 percent shooting.

Charlotte 85, UMass 51 - Scoring the first 11 points, the 49ers (16-12, 9-5 Atlantic 10) led by 29 in the first half and routed the visiting Minutewomen (11-18, 5-9), who got a team-high 11 points from Megan Zullo.

Tennessee 75, Mississippi 63 - Shekinna Stricklen scored 23 points, Alicia Manning added a career-high 15, and the No. 4 Lady Volunteers (27-2, 15-1 SEC) fought off a rally from the host Rebels (16-13, 6-8) and won their 11th straight game.

Xavier 74, Fordham 59 - Ta’Shia Phillips scored a season-high 25 points, making 11 of her 12 shots, and the No. 5 Musketeers (24-3, 14-0) beat the Rams (8-21, 2-12) to clinch the school’s first undefeated season in Atlantic 10 play.

North Carolina 64, Duke 54 - Cetera DeGraffenreid scored 20 of her 22 points in the second half to help the host Tar Heels (18-10, 6-8 ACC) upset the No. 6 Blue Devils (24-5, 12-2) and earn a needed victory for their shaky NCAA Tournament hopes.

Florida St. 94, Maryland 61 - The ninth-ranked Seminoles (26-4, 12-2 ACC) got 15 points apiece from Courtney Ward and Christian Hunnicutt in a rout of the host Terrapins (18-11, 5-9).
