SALEM, Va. — Down 10 points with 11 minutes to play, Wisconsin-Stevens Point looked as if it was going to fall short of a third Division 3 title in seven years.
Then Jared Jenkins led the Pointers on a run that put them comfortably ahead with five minutes to go.
Jenkins finished with 17 points and Matt Moses scored 22 for Stevens Point to help the Pointers (29-4) to a 78-73 win over Williams yesterday in the championship game.
“This is one of the best feelings in the world that you can possibly get,’’ Jenkins said. “It’s like winning the Super Bowl — our Super Bowl.’’
Kyle Schultz led the Ephs (30-2) with 20 points and Troy Whittington added 19 points.
