KINGSTON, R.I.—Alasdair Fraser scored 23 points and Justin Edwards 21 as Maine edged Rhode Island 76-74 in overtime in a nonconference game Sunday.

Raheem Singleton hit two free throws for the Black Bears (3-2) to break a 74-74 tie in overtime, and Rhode Island's Mike Powell, whose 3-pointer forced overtime, missed shots with 51 seconds left and at the buzzer.

Maine was 0 of 5 from the field in overtime, getting its other two points on free throws by Edwards. The Rams (1-7) shot 1 of 7 from the field in overtime, getting a basket from Nikola Malesevic that tied it at 74.

Gerald McLemore had 17 points for Maine, with 14 coming in the first half when the Black Bears took a 39-34 lead.

Malesevic and Jamal Wilson scored 19 apiece to lead Rhode Island, and Orion Outerbridge and Jonathan Holton added 14 each.
