Wildcats strike quickly, rally past Black Bears

Hockey East's player of the month in December picked up where he left off in the new year.
Mike Sislo's shorthanded goal at 13:04 of the third period sparked a three-goal rally that carried 15th-ranked New Hampshire to a 5-4 victory over host Maine yesterday at Alfond Arena.
After stealing the puck, Sislo beat Scott Darling with a high shot. Three minutes later, Greg Collins scored his second of the game, tying the score with a power-play strike.
Marlboro's Bobby Butler netted the winner for UNH (9-6-3, 6-4-2) with 2:21 remaining.
Tanner House had a goal and an assist for the Black Bears (10-7-2, 5-5-1), who led after two periods, 3-1. Cornell 5, UMass 2 - The Minutemen outshot the nation's 10th-ranked team, 28-26, but could get just two power-play goals past Ben Scrivens and fell in Amherst.
Chris Davis and T.J. Syner scored, and Paul Dainton made 21 saves for UMass (9-8-1).

The sophomore guard, just 2 for 14 from the field, hit four free throws down the stretch as the visiting Huskies (4-8) snapped the Pride's seven-game winning streak in the teams' Colonial Athletic Association opener.

Vermont 63, North Dakota 49 - Andrea Cihal's second career double-double (13 points, game-high 14 rebounds) enabled the host Catamounts (6-7) to pull away from the Fighting Sioux (6-9).
Holy Cross 57, Dartmouth 45 - Briana McFadden (18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal) was the catalyst for the Crusaders (4-10) in their victory over the host Big Green (3-9).
Oklahoma 89, N.C. Central 25 - The No. 5 Sooners (11-2) set a school record for fewest points allowed in a drubbing of the visiting Eagles (4-12). Five Sooners scored in double figures, including Courtney Paris (11 points, 12 rebounds, 22 minutes), who stretched her NCAA record streak of consecutive double doubles to 105 games.
Duke 69, Va. Tech 44 - Kyle Singler scored 19 points and keyed the decisive run that carried the fifth-ranked Blue Devils (12-1, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) past the Hokies (9-5, 0-1).
UCLA 83, Oregon 74 - Darren Collison scored 22 points and Josh Shipp added a season-high 17 as the 12th-ranked Bruins (12-2, 2-0 Pac-10) denied the Ducks (6-8, 0-2).

Louisville 74, Kentucky 71 - Edgar Sosa (18 points) hit a 25-footer with 2.8 seconds remaining to give the 18th-ranked Cardinals (9-3) their first home win over the Wildcats (11-4) since 2002.
