Ben Smith and Brian Gibbons had the Eagles’ other strikes.

Merrimack 5, Vermont 2 - Francois Ouimet had a goal and an assist, and Chris Barton’s strike early in the second period was the winner as the Warriors (3-2-0, 1-0-0 Hockey East) improved to 3-0 at home for the first time since the 1993-94, beating the No. 7-ranked Catamounts (2-2-0, 1-1-0).
