CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.—Boston College made it look easy as the Eagles ripped Vermont 7-1 in a Hockey East game.

Freshman Steven Whitney scored two goals and junior John Muse made 30 saves Saturday night for No. 16 B.C., which extended its home winning streak against No. 15 Vermont to 10.

The Catamounts dropped to 3-4-1 (2-3-1 Hockey East) while the Eagles improved to 4-2-1 and 3-2-1.

Vermont's loss was its worst since a 7-2 defeat to Boston University on Nov. 1 last season.
