Northeastern gave Providence its first loss in November with a 5-2 decision last night at Schneider Arena. The Friars fell to 6-4-1 overall, 4-3-0 in Hockey East.

Northeastern (2-7-2, 2-7-2) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first seven minutes. Steve Quailer scored an unassisted goal 1:26 into the game on a shot from the left circle that trickled past Friar goaltender Alex Beaudry. Zak Stone extended the lead at 6:59, before Daniel New’s power-play goal at 17:05 cut it in half.

Second-period tallies by Cody Ferriero and Ludwig Karlsson proved to be enough to secure the victory.

Ross Mauermann scored the Friars’ second goal 4:15 into the third before Drew Ellement’s empty-netter finished the scoring.

Chris Rawlings stopped 19 shots for the win.

UMass 2, Maine 2 - Steven Guzzo’s goal at 5:09 of the third salvaged a tie for the host Minutemen (4-4-3, 2-4-3 Hockey East). The Black Bears (3-6-2, 3-5-1) took a 2-0 lead after the first period on a power-play goal by Mark Anthoine 4:55 into the game, followed by Brian Flynn’s goal at 12:49. Michael Pereira put the Minutemen on the board at 11:11 of the second.

UNH 5, UMass-Lowell 0 - Jeff Silengo’s first goal of the season 6:20 into the game proved to be the winner for the host Wildcats. UNH (5-4-2, 4-3-1 Hockey East) added two goals in the second period and two in the third for the shutout of the River Hawks (5-4-0, 3-3-0).

Harvard 3, Clarkson 2 - Danny Biega’s first goal broke a 2-2 tie with less than seven minutes left in the third period led the Crimson (2-2-1, 2-2-1 ECAC) past the host Golden Knights (6-4-3, 1-3-1). Steve Michalek had 30 saves for Harvard.

Dartmouth 3, St. Lawrence 1 - Matt Lindblad snapped a 1-1 tie at 13:54 of the second period, helping the Big Green (4-3-0, 3-2-0 ECAC) to a road win.

Colgate 3, Quinnipiac 1 - Austin Smith notched a hat trick to lead the No. 17 Red Raiders (7-4-1, 3-2-0 ECAC) past the visiting Bobcats (7-5-2, 1-3-2). Connor Jones scored Quinnipiac’s lone goal.

AIC 3, Army 3 - Mike Hull scored at 12:53 of the third period to give the visiting Black Knights (1-5-3, 1-5-3 Atlantic) the tie with Yellow Jackets (2-8-2, 2-3-2).

RIT 2, Holy Cross 0 - Michael Colavecchia and Brad McGowan scored for the host Tigers (4-3-2, 3-2-2 Atlantic). Matt Ginn made 30 saves for the Crusaders (4-5-0, 3-3-0).

Bentley 0, Mercyhurst 0 - Branden Komm made 28 saves for the Falcons (4-6-2, 4-1-1 Atlantic) in Erie, Pa.

Women

Harvard 2, Clarkson 1 - Second-period goals from Jillian Dempsey and Hillary Crowe gave the No. 10 Crimson (4-1-0, 4-1-0) the victory at Bright Center. Harvard swept the season series over Golden Knights (7-4-4, 3-3-1).

BC 4, Northeastern 1 - Taylor Wasylk scored twice to lead the No. 4 Eagles (8-3-1, 5-2-1 Hockey East) at Conte Forum. Corinne Boyles made 29 saves for BC. Florence Schelling had 35 for the Huskies (10-3-0, 5-2-0).

Mercyhurst 9, Yale 1 - Seven players scored as the ninth-ranked Lakers (7-2-0) topped the Bulldogs (1-9-0) in Erie, Pa. Yale freshman Jaimie Leonoff made 52 saves in relief.

Maine 4, Brown 4 - Tori Pasquariello scored twice as the host Black Bears (7-5-3) tied Brown (2-2-4).
