After six minutes, Boston University appeared capable of giving No. 20 Ohio State a game. Four minutes later, it was no contest.

Kristi Dini's second of five 3-pointers cut the Buckeyes' lead to 9-8 after six minutes yesterday in Columbus, Ohio. But Ohio State scored the next 16 points in a four-minute span during which BU (3-3) missed eight shots and committed three turnovers, and the Buckeyes went on to a 72-47 victory in the Buckeye Classic.

Ohio State will play in the title game today against Dayton, which beat Central Michigan, 78-76. BU will face Central Michigan in the consolation game.

Midway through the first half none of Ohio State's starters was on the floor, but the lead increased from 22-8 to 35-11 over a five-minute span.

BU made 8 of 34 field goals and missed 10 of 15 3-pointers en route to a 43-23 halftime deficit.

Andrea Walker had 14 points off the bench and Samantha Prahalis and Jantel Lavender each scored 13 to lead Ohio State.

Dini led BU with 17 points. Fellow senior Amarachi Umez-Eronini had six rebounds and four steals.

North Carolina 82, Oregon St. 78 - Iman McFarland scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to help the second-ranked Tar Heels (8-0) hold on to beat the Beavers (3-1) in the Junkanoo Jam in Freeport, Bahamas.

Brittney Davis (22 points) helped the Beavers cut a 45-30 halftime deficit to 77-75 with 1:26 left but the Tar Heels wouldn't fold down the stretch. Rashanda McCants added 15 points and Cetera DeGraffenreid had 14 for North Carolina.

California 76, Iowa 43 - Ashley Walker scored 20 of her 32 points in the first half to help the third-ranked Bears (6-0) rout the Hawkeyes (4-3) at the Paradise Jam tournament in the US Virgin Islands.

Alexis Gray-Lawson added 10 points, including the 1,000th of her career just before the half.

Stanford 83, Iowa St. 45 - Sarah Boothe and Rosalyn Gold-Onwude scored 14 points apiece and the fifth-ranked Cardinal (5-1) blew away the 25th-ranked Cyclones (4-1) at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic in Honolulu.

Wisconsin 59, Baylor 58 - Alyssa Karel scored 15 points, including a jumper with seven seconds left, as the Badgers (5-1) edged the sixth-ranked Lady Bears (6-1) in the Paradise Jam.

Nevada 85, Louisville 82 - Dellena Criner hit all 10 of her free throws en route to a team-high 25 points as the host Wolf Pack (4-3) edged the seventh-ranked Cardinals (5-1). Angel McCoughtry scored 34 points for Louisville.

Texas A&M 70, Pepperdine 60 - Danielle Gant scored 19 points and Sydney Carter added a career-high 17 for the eighth-ranked Aggies (6-0) in the championship game of the Timeout 4 HIV/AIDS Tournament in Malibu, Calif.

Texas 76, Ga. Tech 68 - Brittainey Raven scored 20 points to help the 11th-ranked Longhorns (6-0) beat the Yellow Jackets (3-2) in the opening round of the FAU Thanksgiving Classic in Boca Raton, Fla.

Notre Dame 78, Michigan St. 72 - Kellie Watson hit five straight 3-pointers to help ignite a big run and the 14th-ranked Irish (5-0) overcame a 34-point performance by Aisha Jefferson to beat the 24th-ranked Spartans (6-1) in South Bend, Ind.

Auburn 66, N.C. State 51 - Sherell Hobbs scored 15 points, leading the 15th-ranked Tigers (6-0) past the Wolfpack in the opening round of the FIU Thanksgiving Classic in Miami.

Vanderbilt 72, Va. Tech 43 - Christina Wirth scored a game-high 22 points to help the 17th-ranked Commodores (6-1) defeat the visiting Hokies (5-1).

Virginia 76, Marquette 71 - Monica Wright scored 31 points and helped the 16th-ranked Cavaliers (5-1) survive a second-half scare and beat the host Golden Eagles (5-1).

Purdue 90, Hawaii 74 - Brittany Rayburn scored 22 points and Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton added 20 as the 19th-ranked Boilermakers (4-1) rolled over the Rainbow Wahine (4-1) in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic.

Florida 65, Arizona St. 60 - Sha Brooks scored 15 of her 25 points in the second half, and the Gators (6-1) beat the 21st-ranked Sun Devils to win the Lucaya Division championship of the Junkanoo Jam.
