Senior guard Renee Montgomery had a career-high 30 points and matched the Connecticut record with 13 assists to help the top-ranked Huskies rout No. 4 Oklahoma, 106-78, last night in Storrs, Conn.

It was the first time Oklahoma gave up over 100 points since losing to Connecticut, 102-80, in the NCAA regionals in 2000.

Maya Moore added 27 points and 12 rebounds and Tina Charles had 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks for UConn (5-0). Freshman Caroline Doty had a career-high 18 points, going 6 for 6 from the 3-point line.

Danielle Robinson had 19 points and Ashley Paris added 17 points and 13 rebounds for Oklahoma (4-2). Courtney Paris had 14 points and 14 rebounds for her 98th straight double-double, extending her NCAA record.

Stanford 83, Hawaii 54 - Jillian Harmon scored 18 points in the first half as the No. 5 Cardinal (6-1) blasted the Rainbow Wahine (0-6) to finish 3-0 at the Waikiki Beach Classic in Honolulu.

Harvard 72, Siena 49 - Sophomore Emma Markley had 15 points and nine rebounds as the Crimson (3-2) rolled over the Saints (0-6) in Loudonville, N.Y.

Central Michigan 84, BU 72 - Latisha Luckett had 24 points as the Chippewas (4-2) took third place at the Buckeye Classic in Columbus, Ohio. Jesyka Burks-Wiley led the Terriers (3-4) with 20 points.

Western Ill. 64, Holy Cross 55 - Bethany O'Dell scored 23 points but it wasn't enough for the Crusaders (1-5) to catch the Westerwinds (2-4) at the White Invitational in Evanston, Ill.

Saint John's 70, Vermont 58 - Monique McLean scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Red Storm (5-1) over the visiting Catamounts (4-2) and Courtnay Pilypaitis (19 points, 11 rebounds).

Stonehill 79, Southern N.H. 77 - Senior Bethany Tighe scored a career-high 24 points and sophomore Emily Rousseau added 19 as the fifth-ranked Skyhawks (5-1, 3-1 NE-10) held off the host Penmen (2-2, 1-2).

Men's basketball

Western Ky. 68, Louisville 54 - Double-teaming freshman big man Samardo Samuels at every turn, the Hilltoppers (3-2) stunned the No. 3 Cardinals (2-1) in Nashville for their first victory over a top-three opponent in more than 40 years.

A.J. Slaughter led the Hilltoppers with a career-high 25 points and Steffphon Pettigrew added 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Terrence Williams had 19 points and Earl Clark added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Louisville, which shot just 27 percent from the field and made just 6 of 30 3-pointers.

N. Carolina 116, UNC-Asheville 48 - Ty Lawson scored 22 points to help the No. 1 Tar Heels beat the Bulldogs (3-3) in Chapel Hill.

Danny Green scored 18 points for the Tar Heels (7-0) as Tyler Hansbrough sat as he continues to recover from a preseason injury to his right shin.

Jason Ridenhour had 8 points and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (3-3), who led, 6-2, before the Tar Heels kicked into gear to lead, 53-19, at halftime.

Michigan St. 65, Wichita St. 57 - Marquis Gray scored 12 points to lead the No. 5 Spartans (4-1) over the Shockers (2-2) for a fifth-place finish in the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Texas 77, Rice 56 - Justin Mason scored 14 points and the No. 6 Longhorns (5-1), who arrived in Austin Friday after playing in the Maui Invitational, shook off any jet lag with a win over the Owls (2-4), improving to 86-9 against foes from the Lone Star State in Rick Barnes's 11 seasons.

Notre Dame 93, Furman 61 - Kyle McAlarney, who needed five stitches to his lip after getting elbowed, scored 32 points to lead the No. 8 Irish (5-1) to an easy win over the Paladins (1-4), their school-record 39th straight home victory. Ryan Ayers had a career-high 19 points for the Irish, who played without Luke Harangody (pneumonia).

Gonzaga 83, Tennessee 74 - Steven Gray scored 19 points and Matt Bouldin added 17 as the No. 9 Bulldogs (4-0) held off the No. 12 Volunteers (5-1) to win the Old Spice Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Saint Mary's 81, Providence 75 - Patrick Mills scored 24 points and Diamon Simpson had a season-high 18 points as the Gaels (5-1) held off the Friars in the fourth-place game of the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif. Jonathan Kale scored 20 points for the Friars (4-3).

Bentley 72, UMass-Lowell 64 - Lew Finnegan scored 18 points and Mike Quinn added 16 of his 17 points in the second half as the Falcons (6-2, 2-1 NE-10) beat the host River Hawks (4-2, 2-2). For Bentley, No. 13 in Division 2, it was its 48th win in 49 regular-season conference games.

Saint Anselm 74, AIC 64 - Greg Vetrano scored 17 points to pace the Hawks (5-1, 3-1 NE-10) over the visiting Yellow Jackets (4-2, 2-2) - a contest pitting Saint Anselm guard Pat Luptowski against his father, Art Luptowski, the head coach at AIC.

Endicott 86, Western Conn. 58 - Bobby Montrond of Brockton hit an off-balance jumper with 0.2 seconds left to lift the Gulls (4-2) over the Colonials (3-2) for the championship of the WCSU Holiday Tourney in Danbury, Conn.

Men's hockey

BC 2, Dartmouth 1 - Brian Gibbons tied the game with 38.2 seconds left in regulation and Barry Almeida scored with 1:14 to play in overtime to lift the fifth-ranked Eagles (9-4-1) over the Big Green (6-4) in Hanover, N.H.

Women's hockey

BC 2, Northeastern 0 -Kelli Stack and Danielle Welch scored and Molly Schaus made 27 saves as the Eagles (9-3-3) blanked the visiting Huskies (6-5-2).

Middlebury 5, Wesleyan 0 - The Panthers (4-0-1), No. 1 in Division 3, had a 59-8 edge in shots in beating the host Cardinals (0-4-1) to remain undefeated in the 29-year-old series (38-0-3).

Men's soccer

Wake Forest 7, Dartmouth 0 - The Demon Deacons (20-1-1), the defending national champions, rolled over the visiting Big Green (11-6-2) in the third round of the NCAA Tournament .
