Franklin Pierce: Second-ranked Ravens return nine players from a 29-6 squad that fell to Minnesota State-Mankato in national final, 103-94; former head coach-turned-assistant Steve Hancock is back in lead role.
Stonehill: With four talented starters back, the ninth-ranked Skyhawks began the season with two wins in three games in the Disney Division 2 East Coast Classic.
Bentley: With a healthy Elise Caira and the addition of Columbia transfer Katherine Goodwin, Falcons ready to take flight.
DIVISION 2 PLAYERS TO WATCH
Kim Brennan, Bentley: Averaged 15.1 points and 3.1 assists per game while setting a program record for minutes played.
Laechia Conley, AIC: A solid all-around threat, the senior forward can score (12.7 points), rebound (5.9), dish, and defend.
Johannah Leedham, Franklin Pierce: Two-time Northeast-10 Player of the Year from Ellesmere Port, England, is a scoring machine.
Emily Rousseau, Stonehill: Finds a way to fill up the stat sheet every game for Skyhawks.
Kelsey Simonds, Stonehill: Powerful presence in the post (15.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks), the senior is ready for a stellar final run.
DIVISION 3 TEAMS TO WATCH
Amherst: Ranked third, the Jeffs return all five starters from last year’s 29-4 juggernaut that advanced to national semis, including impressive sophomore point Shannon Finucane.
Bowdoin: The No. 8 Polar Bears, the only team to knock off Amherst twice last season, return four starters, led by junior guard Katie Bergeron.
Brandeis: The No. 9 Judges have made four straight trips to the NCAA Tournament under 23-year coach Carol Simon.
DIVISION 3 PLAYERS TO WATCH
Jaci Daigneault, Amherst: All-America junior forward (12.8 points, 7.2 rebounds per game) was immense down the stretch.
Jessica Chapin, Brandeis: Senior guard led the 20-8 Judges in points (14.1), rebounds (6.7), assists (3.2), and steals (2.9) last season.
Iman Davis, Emmanuel: Two-time GNAC Player of the Year paced the Saints in points (18.5), rebounds (7.2), assists (3.8), and steals (2.8).
Colleen Hart, Tufts: The junior floor leader can drain the 3, penetrate and dish, defend, and at 5 feet 4 inches, rebound (4.2 per game).
Danielle Jenkins, Salem State: The 5-11 senior post is capable of a double-double every night.![]()
