No. 22 Texas women overwhelm Grambling State 91-38

AUSTIN, Texas—Chassidy Fussell scored 19 points and No. 22 Texas opened the game with 19 consecutive points en route to a 91-38 victory over Grambling State on Tuesday night.

The Longhorns (9-2) held the Tigers without a field goal over the first 5:36, led by 30 at halftime and built the margin to 55 in the closing minutes before finishing with their largest margin of victory this season.

Fussell was 3 for 7 on 3-pointers and Texas made a season-high nine from behind the arc. Ashleigh Fontenette added 14 points and 10 assists for the Longhorns. Ashley Gayle and Chelsea Bass each had 11 points, and Cokie Reed scored 10.

Savannah Carter scored 12 points to lead Grambling State (4-5).

The Longhorns caused 15 turnovers and Gayle, fourth in the nation with 4.2 blocks per game, recorded two for Texas.
