South Florida women beat DePaul 76-62 in Big East

HARTFORD, Conn.—Ann Martin scored 33 points and dished out six assists to lead DePaul to a 76-62 win over South Florida on Saturday in the second round of the Big East tournament.

Jasmine Penny finished with 15 points and eight rebounds for the Blue Demons (22-9), who will face top-seeded Notre Dame in the quarterfinals on Sunday. Katherine Harry had eight points and 12 rebounds.

Brittany Hrynko had eight of the DePaul's 21 assists. Martin shot 12 of 18 from the floor, made all seven of her free throw attempts but had seven turnovers.

DePaul shot 52.7 percent (29 for 55) from the floor, holding the Bulls to 32.3 percent (21 for 65). The Blue Demons' strong shooting overshadowed their 15 turnovers.

Jasmine Wynne scored 18 points and Inga Orekhova 17 for South Florida (17-15). Andrell Smith had 10 points and eight rebounds, while Tiffany Conner had a game-high 11 rebounds.
