DENVER—Denver women's basketball coach Erik Johnson is returning to Boston College.

The University of Denver said Wednesday that Johnson has accepted the women's basketball head coaching position at Boston College. The Pioneers said they would search nationally for a new coach.

Johnson had been an assistant coach at Boston College before joining Denver before the 2008-2009 season.
