Tony's Top 5 things we learned from the first half of the NFL season

Pacman Jones was overrated. For that matter, so were the Dallas Cowboys. With or without Tony Romo, Dallas looks like the biggest waste of talent since the 1992 New York Mets.
4
The Lions are going winless. Already having been outscored by 102 points, the Lions' 8 remaining games are vs. the Jags, at Carolina, vs. the Bucs, vs. the Titans, vs. the Vikes, at Indy, vs. the Saints, at the Packers.
3
The Titans will not win the Super Bowl. Sure, they're a good football team. But it already has been proven that a team quarterbacked by Kerry Collins cannot win the Super Bowl. Bet they go 4-4 or 5-3 over the final eight.
2
The West stinks. Combined, in both conferences, teams playing in the West Division are a combined 21-43. The only West team with a winning record entering Week 9 is the Arizona Cardinals.
1
The NFC has overtaken the AFC. Maybe it's because Tom Brady is hurt and Peyton Manning looks like a shell of himself, but the best football is being played in the other conference, which is where this year's champ will come from.

Tony's Top 5

Teams to watch in the NFL playoffs

5
Green Bay Packers. Went 7-1 in their final eight games – and the loss was a last-second decision at Pittsburgh.
4
Minnesota Vikings. One of only two unbeatens at home this year – the Pats are the other – and they won’t travel in January.
3
Dallas Cowboys. While the Eagles were choking, the Cowboys won their last three by a combined 65-17 and shut out the last two.
2
Indianapolis Colts. One way or the other, they will entertain. Maybe they’ll win it all. Maybe they’ll choke.
1
San Diego Chargers. The highest-scoring team in the AFC hasn’t lost since Oct. 19. Is this finally the year?

Belichick's list of mistakes
It is the end of an era and we all felt the loss of Scott Pioli yesterday. Clearly, there is a lack of quality player evaluation, since many of these players are not working in the current system. It is time to cut our losses and rebuild, starting first with figuring out who this team is and what their priorities are (defense first).

Red Sox sign Adrian Beltre
If Papi and Lowell can play nicely, I love having both of them on the team sharing time at DH. Good work Theo.
