Innocence lost
Ah, to pine for the innocent days of baseball; When Carlton Fisk promoted smokeless tobacco, and Mickey Mantle pushed Anheuser Busch’s renowned swill.

Ah, the Bad Old Days of beer. When ol' Natty Lite was being marketed on the basis of its...taste?
Nice touch on the end of Carlton's ad: "Take that, Cincinnati!" But neither of these gives me the crawly feeling of watching the Flintstones selling Chesterfields.
Still recall what now must be the most politically incorrect advertising jingle of all time being broadcast on Sox games when I was a kid:
"Schaefer . . . is the . . . one beer to have . . . when you're . . . having . . . more than one . . . "
"The most rewarding flavor . . . in this man's world . . . for people who are having fun . . . ."
It's got everything.
Glad to see you put a nice rubber stamp on this blog entry.
Omigod the man was gorgeous. And he still would be if he didn't dye his hair so dark. Lighten up, baby.
We used to sing the schaefer jingle (actually more like screaming) at the top of our lungs at YMCA camp, with the full support of our councellors...ahh, the good old days...
