Las Vegas has listed the Patriots with 12-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, which sounds about right.
According to Las Vegas Sports Consultants, the Patriots and Packers are both right in the middle of the pack, where the Indianapolis Colts are clear-cut 8-5 favorites to win it all.
San Diego and New Orleans are tied for second at 5-2.
"Indy has been the most consistent team all year," Mike Seba, a senior oddsmaker told Bloomberg. "They donít blow teams out, but they win the big games. You can play with them, but itís hard to beat them."
Unless they, you know, give you the game.
Still, I'm a little surprised to see Vegas give the Colts that much of an edge, especially considering the Chargers and their 11-game winning streak. Not sure what to expect out of the Saints, but if I were a betting man (ahem), I'd be laying some cash on the Packers.
Bringing up the rear are the Jets, at 25-1. What does it say about a playoff team's quarterback when the best defense and best running attack are long shots to win it all?
Here are the complete odds:
San Diego 5-2
New Orleans 5-2
Green Bay 12-1
New England 12-1
New York Jets 25-1
