Sox get Breslow

The following appeared in the Sports Log section of today’s Boston Globe:

The Red Sox have signed lefthanded reliever Craig Breslow, 25, who was non-tendered by San Diego in December despite holding lefthanders to an .063 average (1 hit in 16 at-bats) as a rookie last season.

A New Haven native, Breslow pitched at Yale and was drafted by Milwaukee in 2002. After getting released by the Brewers in July 2004, he played in the independent league, with the New Jersey Jackals before joining the Padres.
